
Sojourns magazine is a semi-annual publication aimed at a general audience and focusing on the cultural and natural history of the Colorado Plateau. It is a tool used to support the mission of its publisher, the Peaks, Plateaus & Canyons Association (PPCA), which is a consortium of nonprofit educational organizations.PPCA's Mission and Purpose Linked by terrain, mission, and purpose, members of the Peaks, Plateaus & Canyons Association collaborate to promote understanding and stewardship of the Colorado Plateau. Peaks, Plateaus & Canyons Association supports and fosters professionalism among member organizations and educates a diverse audience through cooperation in mutually beneficial projects, networking, and training. Sojourns is one tool used by PPCA to fulfill its mission: - by providing an educational service;
- by serving as a popular voice for current and historical research;
- by promoting interdisciplinary approaches to scientific and historical themes;
- by advancing conservation, preservation, and other stewardship values; and
- by reaching beyond institutional boundaries to share its messages with diverse audiences.
Sojourns is intended to enlighten, surprise, and delight its readers and to nurture respect and appreciation of the region. We operate from the belief that what we love we will protect.
